The RPL lets you enjoy the freedom of flight. It is the first step. Should you just want to experience the thrill of flying or progress to obtaining a full private licence or even obtaining a commercial licence. The RPL is the first licence for you to fly in command of an aircraft.

Requirements for an RPL
- Minimum age 16 years
- Flight training with an approved school
- 25 hours (20 dual instruction and 5 hours solo in command)
- Pass RPL theory exam
- Pass an RPL flight test
- Medical (Aviation) Class 1 or 2 or recreational aviation medical practitioners’ certificate
Duration
Done at your own pace. We recommend you have a timetable that works for you. This can be from full time to one day a week. Talk to our experienced flight instructors. You need to balance the theory, practical flying and weather into a program that achieves your goals and is realistic.
